Motor Claims Recoveries Handler

**Purpose of the role**:
The Collections Claims Handler role involves the negotiation and settlement of credit hire invoices with at-fault insurers following non-fault motor traffic accidents. Day-to-day, you will take ownership of your own caseload which will involve keeping clients up-to-date and negotiating financial settlements with insurers both over the phone and via written correspondence.
**Main responsibilities**:
- Review liability and identify any potential issues in the recovery costs.
- Proactively and confidently chase and negotiate settlement of the hire charges with insurers inline with the company procedures.
- Resolve and recover uninsured losses of our client (excess, storage and recovery, AIP etc)
- Work with solicitors and brokers to ensure that the claim is progressing towards settlement of hire charges
*Ensure that all required documentation for settlement of a claim is gathered in a timely manner by working with solicitors, insurers and brokers in information requests from our clients
- To hit both individual and team weekly and monthly targets for cash collection to ensure consistent cash flow into the business
- Work towards company and individual targets
- Adherence to H&S and HR policies and procedures
- Any other tasks as may be allocated from time to time
Application of relevant case law and credit hire principles in order to settle cases
**What you need to work for us**:
**Essential -**
Good Level of education - at least to GCSE level or equivalent
Customer Service Experience
Good communication skills that can be applied written and verbally
knowledge of MS Office
Strong Negotiation
Ability to overcome objections
**Desirable -**
English & Maths GCSE
Experience working in credit hire, insurance or automotive industry
Experience with the credit control or bad debt recovery industry
Understanding of the automotive industry
A good level of knowledge of vehicles
**Hours of work** - Monday to Friday - Full Time Flexible working hours / Hybrid working available (to be discussed in interview)
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
