Howarth Timber Engineered Solutions is a leading timber engineering specialist who are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join their team. You will be supporting timber engineering experts who are based at five sites across the country and you’ll enjoy the autonomy of managing your own workload, with the support of the MD.
The HR Generalist role will provide professional support in all HR related matters. Delivering consistent high quality, clear employee relations advice to managers and ensure alignment with the company goals, and you’ll also be able to get involved in a lot more too. The business is continually developing, recently purchasing a new business with their sister Company, as well as updating facilities throughout the business and introducing new systems and machines.
If you’re an experienced HR Generalist with proven experience of people management looking for an enjoyable challenge, then this opportunity could be for you This is a great role to design and lead projects which really impact a changing organisation at an exciting time. Added value activities would largely be determined by you with the agreement of the MD and are likely to cover broad spectrum of areas. There is also the opportunity to work with other HR colleagues who support other businesses in the Group.

**Key Human Resource Generalist Responsibilities**:
- Work closely with all departments and implement policies and procedures
- Interpret, advise and implement processes, including developing those already in place and being part of the selection and introduction of others
- Promote equality and diversity, namely working to ensure our demographic reflects the locations where we work, and building ways to attract younger colleagues and women to the business and industry
- Develop working environment which includes, reward & benefits, recognition, wellbeing & company purpose vision and values
- Performance management development, one to ones, regular feedback, career plans
- Plan, introduce and deliver training
- Cover all aspects of people management including disciplinaries, grievances and absence
- Succession activities including introducing new roles, and creating leadership development plans
- Develop HR planning strategy which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements
- Analyse training needs in conjunction with departmental managers
- End to end life cycle including recruitment, improving attraction methods, induction, and colleague communication
- Supporting business change which may include TUPE & organisation design
- Ensure HR systems are utilised effectively, IRIS Cascade & Focus Payroll, including maintaining employee records and HR documentation
- Initiation and delivery of multiple projects throughout the year
**Personal Specification HR Generalist**:
- Qualified to degree level or similar by experience Full L5 CIPD preferred
- Practical experience and up to date knowledge of employment law is essential
- Professional at all times
- Tactful and diplomatic with the ability to deal with difficult situations
- A high regard for maintaining confidentiality
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Results/ solution driven, business acumen
- A methodical and pro-active thinker
- Proven track record of making a difference & passionate about delivering value in your role
- Excellent computer literacy
- Valid UK Driving Licence
