_HR Generalist _
Payroll Elite have partnered with an organisation within the Education sector who are looking for an experience Employee Relations Lead as a remote role predominantly but with occasional visits to the offices in Bury and Ipswich.

Main

**Responsibilities**:
To provide advice and guidance to support managers on employment-related issues, in particular disciplinary, grievance, capability and appeal hearings.

The role will support the college in retaining a high performing workforce, which supports the strategic aims and ensures expert advice and support on all HR related matters.

The following duties are not shown in order of priority or frequency, nor is the list comprehensive, but rather an indication of the type and level of duties expected of the post.
- Support, co-ordinate and manage employee casework efficiently including disciplinary, grievance, capability and appeals.
- Build good relationships with all employees in your role as a ‘trusted advisor and casework lead’
- Provide coaching, guidance and training to Managers to support a proactive and effective approach to people management;
- Work collaboratively with Managers to execute effective resolutions to cases.
- Collate and present information briefings on a range of HR topics.
- Collate and provide Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the HR Team and on behalf of other areas.
- Provide advice and guidance to all employees on relevant policies, procedures and any relevant legislation.
- To maintain and evidence continuing on-going professional development.
- Work with the Group HR Director and HR Manager to develop and foster a shared service approach for HR services, across the eastern Group.
- Work with the Group HR Director and HR Manager to ensure policies are up to date and in line with current legislation and practice and provide suggestions for improvement, developing new policies as necessary.
- Ensure effective processes are in place to make best use of technology and resources available in support of providing an efficient and accurate HR service.
- Take part in or lead on Projects on behalf of HR, as delegated by the Group HR Director or HR
Manager.
- Ensure that the Single Central Record is compliant
- Ensure Safeguarding procedures are followed accordingly.
**Person Specification**:
**Qualifications**
- CIPD Level 5 or 7 (or working towards) or equivalent experience/qualification
- Evidence of CPD through experience/attendance at courses or able to articulate examples of dealing with HR queries.
**Experience**
- Strong experience of providing generalist HR advice on complex case work (disciplinaries, capabilities, grievances and appeal hearings)
- Participation in HR related projects
- Experience of working with Unions and in Education, or Further Education is desirable
**Knowledge & Skills**
- Competent with data production and analysis of KPIs
- Able to provide information in a variety of formats, to a range of audiences
- Ability to prepare written reports and make presentations to managers and staff
- Competent IT skills
- Good organisational & communication skills

- Team worker with strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- Self
- motivated and able to work under own autonomy or as part of a team
- Attention to detail with ability to also see the wider strategic view.
- Able to work flexibly in order to meet the needs of the organisation and able to travel independently to other sites as necessary.

**Conditions of Service**
- Holidays: 24 days, plus public holidays, raising to 29 days on completion of 5 years service.
- Contributory pension: Local Government Pension Scheme through Suffolk County Council

The successful applicant will be required to complete and obtain a standard or enhanced disclosure check (role dependant) from the Disclosure and Barring Service

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
