Poole, United Kingdom Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are seeking a Patient Flow Clerk to primarily provide comprehensive administrative support to the Matron for Patient Flow/Bed Management and Health Based Place of Safety. There may be some requirement to undertake some Mental Health Support Worker tasks to support the Health Based Place of Safety Team during busy periods.

Being a University Trust, we promote learning & development and all staff are encouraged and supported throughout their career to grow and develop. We provide in depth initial and on-going inductions, mandatory/personal training programmes, plus clinical and management supervision. Our staff also have access to some of the leading research programmes in mental health and, whatever your role, there are opportunities to develop skills and clinical practice by being part of ground-breaking work. We also have an eye on the future - always looking out for the leaders of tomorrow.

Our staff are entitled to a series of employee benefits, including flexible working, NHS Pension, car lease schemes and exclusive discounts on a wide range of products and services, from household appliances to holidays. We also offer a generous relocation package.

Your core tasks will include all forms of administrative support to the Matron to include daily minute taking, assisting to prepare correspondence and reports, gathering and populating information requests, supporting roster/HR related matters for the team and monitoring the delivery of action plans.

You will need to have a minimum of 1 years office based experience, be self-motivated, organised and proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook. It would be advantageous if you are familiar with Trust systems such as e-Roster, Ulysses and RiO.

The post holder will be a pivotal point of contact between the Matron, patient flow teams and wider Mental Health services. You will need to be able to build effective working relationships, have a calm, friendly ‘can-do’ approach and ensure good levels of communication at all times.

At Dorset HealthCare we’re on a mission to empower people to make the most of their lives through our outstanding, joined-up healthcare services. We’re a dynamic, forward-looking Trust, running 12 community hospitals, specialist inpatient facilities and a wide range of integrated community and mental health services for a population of almost 800,000 people.

We do things differently here - it’s one of the reasons the CQC rated us ‘outstanding’ in 2019. It’s also why 95% of patients across our services say they have a good or very good experience of our services and 89% of staff feel they can really make a difference. Whether you’re looking to work with us in one of our bustling market towns, vibrant urban locations, thriving seaside spots, or among the rolling hills of Dorset, there are lots of ways you can make a difference in our communities.

We're all about building a workplace for the future, we believe in equal opportunities and we celebrate diversity.
