An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk to join Harbour Ward team A Ward Clerk will provide administrative, clerical and general support to the multi-disciplinary team.
Harbour Ward is a 16 bed Male Treatment Ward, providing treatment and care for a wide range of mental health illnesses. The age of the patients ranges from 18 to 64.
For this post you will need to have strong administration and organisational skills to complete the ward's administrative tasks. You will need to have previous office-based experience, be self-motivated, organised and a good communicator. You should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have a can-do approach towards meeting the needs of the team and the patients.
This is a position of 30 hours per week, working from 09:00 -17:00 Monday to Friday.
You will be based within the ward office and be pivotal to keep the team updated on communications and to undertake the administrative tasks of the ward, with support and guidance of the Ward Manager.
- Update patient admission/transfer/discharge information on a daily basis
- To support the team to ensure Mental Health Act paperwork is up to date and filed correctly.
- Regularly check the ward environment and be responsible for raising maintenance requisitions
- To plan and arrange patient transport and provide assistance with escorting patients off the ward
- To assist with ordering and re-stocking the ward with stationery and other supplies
- To support ensuring there are adequate staffing levels by liaising with the Trust Bank.
- To support on the ward with serving meals, making beds, completing observations as required.
