Taunton, United Kingdom Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Would you like the opportunity to join an established and respected team which is already making a difference to Children and Young People in Somerset?

Our CAMHS Intensive Treatment Team in Somerset would like to welcome a Child and Family Support Worker to join our experienced team, supporting Young People in the community.

If you enjoy a challenge and want to contribute to making a difference to young people, we want to hear from you.

Interviews will take place on the afternoon of 14th December at Foundation House

You’ll have the support of the team around you, including qualified professionals and fellow support workers, as we work together to support children and young people who are already accessing support from our Community Teams. The team supports young people with complex mental health presentations in the community, to enhance treatment and care provided by our Multi-Disciplinary Community Teams.

It is a great time to join this team of dedicated professionals with a wealth of experience from various backgrounds and there is plenty of opportunity to learn and develop. The CAMH service is constantly evolving and we can provide you with staff development, training, regular supervision and a positive team environment.

We would encourage informal enquiries about the role so if you’d like to find out more before you apply, please contact our team managers, Jess Froom or Janine Newbury, on 01823 368 368.
As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, fantastic pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

The Child & Family Mental Health Support Worker needs to be able to communicate, provide and receive complex, sensitive and at times contentious information, where skills of persuasive motivational negotiating, empathy and counselling are required - often in situations where there are barriers to understanding and high stress levels.
