The Head of Energy Operations job itself where you will be responsible for ensuring New Energy Systems’ energy management and project delivery services meet customer needs and are profitable. The Head of Energy Operations is accountable for the maintenance, monitoring and evolution of processes for financial management, staff resource utilisation, customer proposals, service delivery, programme management and staff development.

New Energy Systems (NES) provide organisations with experts in understanding non-domestic customers’ energy and carbon management needs. NES provides the full scope of energy management support (in line with ISO 50001) required by these customers and manages the implementation of carbon reduction projects as both an independent project manager and as main contractor. The Head of Energy Operations ensures these services and works are appropriately defined, proposed, contracted and delivered.

The Head of Energy Operations manages energy consultants, analysts and project managers. The role requires direct engagement with senior and operational stakeholders within my client, including Finance, Legal, Procurement, SHEQ, IT, Metering and Engineering. Engagement will also be required with senior customer and supplier stakeholders to govern the quality of NES’s service and delivery.

This role provides an opportunity to lead delivery of services and projects to decarbonise the energy systems of large businesses and other organisations.

You will take ownership of and champion the company vision, values and management system requirements in your area of responsibility, ensuring arrangements are clearly identified, monitored and improved. Ensure staff are competent for the tasks, workplaces are organised and maintained, risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place, equipment is suitable and maintained.

**You will have**

To be successful as Head of Energy Operations you will have a healthy mix of the following:

- A degree or equivalent qualification is essential.
- A management qualification (e.g. MBA, MCMI) is desirable.
- Experience of line management and leading a team.
- Experience of process development, maintenance and evolution.
- Awareness of ISO standards for management systems (e.g. 9001, 27001, 50001, 14001).
- Experience of scrutinising contractual requirements for customers and/or suppliers.
- Ability to structure projects using work packages with clearly defined tasks, setting concrete expectations for staff responsible for delivery.
- Use of task and project management platforms (e.g. MS Planner, Trello).
- Experience of P&L responsibility.
- Experience of managing client relationships in either an account manager or technical capacity.
- A track record of showing leadership and mentoring colleagues.
- The ability to undertake business development and negotiation of commercial opportunities
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (especially Excel)
- Excellent numerical reasoning and problem solving.
