The work of the Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) Team is focused on the timely distribution of funds received from the recovery of PPI related assets held on bankruptcy cases. This is a significant piece of work for the Insolvency Service which directly supports our objective of maximising returns to creditors.

The team is currently based across 3 locations: Chatham, Exeter and Manchester and we are now setting up a new team in Cardiff.

**Job description**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) team, which is part of Business Services Directorate. The team is responsible for dealing with the distribution of funds received from the recovery of PPI related assets held on aged bankruptcy cases. The team work to demanding but achievable targets in a busy office environment. The work requires a reasonable level of numeracy skills with our aim being to start team members on straightforward tasks with the option of progressing to casework. After a period of consolidation competent case officers will be introduced to more complex cases.

**Responsibilities**

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Managing a case load of bankruptcy and partnership cases.
- Entering information onto our computer system and producing standard reports for approval.
- Following guidance and protocols to prepare cases for payment and distributing funds to creditors.
- Providing excellent customer service.
- Providing general administrative support to the team and other business areas, when needed.
- Supporting Continuous Improvement activities, as well as team, directorate and wider agency initiatives.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:

- You will have an inquisitive mind and enjoy working with numbers and financial information.
- You will have an ability to work independently to follow instructions and guidelines carefully and to ask for help when needed.
- You will have a desire to work as part of a team to meet targets.
- You will have excellent organisational and time management skills which enable you to meet deadlines whilst being flexible when urgent works needs to be completed
- You will have a motivation for learning and a desire to deliver excellent service to our customers.
- You will have basic IT skills or be prepared to learn these skills.
