Key Responsibilities for Joy Project Mentor:

- Support women to develop their own Personal Development Plan.
- Provide low level 1-1 intervention support to JOY women/clients as needed, signposting as identified and appropriate.
- Identify barriers faced by clients in need of specialist services and provide support and guidance to overcome these.
- Motivate and encourage women to become involved in and to become volunteers or mentors for the project.
- Support and manage volunteers on the project, alongside Project Worker and Project Manager.
- Encourage people to engage in training and development programmes.
- Work with the Project Manager to maintain accurate project records and report on outcomes.
- Support the JOY client conversation group.
- Promote the project with potential service users and the wider community.
- Act as a positive role model for people.
- Use reflective practice within supervision to inform practice.

**Experience - Essential**
- Experience of working with vulnerable and disadvantaged women.
- Experience of providing one to one support to service users.
- Experience of supporting signposting to other agencies or services.
- Experience in working with groups of people.
- Experience in devising and/or delivering one off sessions to groups of people.
- Experience of working with volunteers and developing volunteer opportunities.
- Experience of maintaining excellent IT records and data collection for project outcomes including adherence to GDPR.

**Skills**
- Adaptability to be able to work with people from various backgrounds with understanding and with non-judgmental practice.
- Calm immediate response to potential high-risk situations.
- Willingness to develop and learn and to reflect on practice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
