The Role & Responsibilities

Payment Services currently serves all business areas within Shawbrook Bank Ltd in respect of outbound payments. They are the final step in the process of the client receiving their funds. Owing to the uses of these funds it is vital that Payment Services react quickly to process payments to allow clients to carry on with their business, purchase property via solicitors or repay outstanding debt etc. Payments are closely regulated, and it is the responsibility of Payment Services to ensure that all risk is mitigated. Due to the nature of the importance of ensuring outbound payments are processed a key factor is accuracy and attention to detail.
- The role is to work as part of a team to ensure the timely processing of outbound payments. always Ensuring accuracy and all processes and procedures are appropriately followed. This role is reporting directly to the Senior Manager Payment Services.
- Check all payment requests to ensure relevant documentation has been provided along with the relevant approval prior to paying out.
- Liaise with relevant business areas to rectify any issues with the payment being requested
- Assist with payment approvals as and when required.
- Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers
- Maintain a good standard of communication at all levels
- Ensure compliance with Payment Services processes and procedures
- Ensure all mandatory reading is completed and all learning bank activities are completed by deadline date
- Maintain an awareness of changes to legislation i.e., Swift, PSR etc
- Adhere to all Legal, Regulatory, Compliance policies and procedures
- Adhere to all HR requirements as described in the HR policies.
- Report all issues of regulatory concern to the Senior Manager Payment Services.
- Report and Escalate Potential Risk Events to Senior Manager Payment Services 16. Encourage a culture of compliance and high ethical standards
- Aid other business units, as required
- Undertake any other duties, as the business requires

The Person
- Computer literate (good knowledge of MS Office suite - Excel, Word)
- Accuracy & Attention to detail
- Adaptable & Flexible, with an enthusiastic ‘can-do’ attitude
- Ability to drive issues through to resolution
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Professional, well presented
- Establishes effective working relationships at all levels
