Dangerous Goods Safety Co-ordinator

Reporting to the Design & DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser) Team Manager, the individual will be expected to provide support for Design function and Hazardous / POLs logistics activities and ensure standards are maintained to exceed customer expectations. The individual will need to demonstrate a basic knowledge of Hazardous / POLs (Port of Loading) skills to meet the full DGSA & Design Team Manager responsibilities. **How will you contribute?** - Support with Customer Non-Conformance investigations and reporting back to Line Manager or Quality Manager as applicable - Attending customer meetings to fully understand their business and how we directly affect them - Record all relevant data during briefings for follow up purposes - Ensure two-way communication with team members is maintained on all matters relating to their involvement in Company business - Be committed to continuous development in line with operational needs, constantly striving for increased efficiency, productivity, and growth - Motivate and manage a team of MTOs to achieve, and where possible exceed, all performance objectives - Monitor and action all customers IT reports - Recording performance reports, making recommendations for improvements - Maintain stock accuracy/integrity to contractual level and target continuous improvement in accuracy levels - Ensure the following areas are performed efficiently and achieve set KPIs - goods in, packing, kitting, goods out, loading and unloading - Flexibility to react to unexpected situations and provide proactive solutions - Operate within the Wincanton values - Excellence, Integrity, Passion, Proactivity, Togetherness and Trust **What will you bring?** - A proactive, flexible and "can do" attitude to resolve issues and challenges - Demonstrate good team motivation and communication skills - Attention to detail required to assume quality checking/quality control - Ability to train others to a high standard - Ability to use IT Systems in accordance with training provided - PC literate and numerate with good communication skills, including a minimum of a basic understanding of Microsoft Office as required - Flexibility is required regarding shift patterns **What we offer?** - Salary - £26,861.02 per year - Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday - 24 days holiday plus bank holidays with the option to buy more - Retail discount - Free Parking - Pension scheme - Death in Service benefit - Healthcare Cash Plan - Payroll Giving - Shares Scheme - Cycle to Work Scheme - Wellbeing Portal
