We’re looking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced registered nurse to join our team in HMP/YOI ISIS. The post holder will manage, lead and co-ordinate the Early days in custody model within HMP/YOI ISIS. Will provide safe and effective care pathways for all prisoners identified through the single point of assessment as needing care co-ordination for their first 14 days in custody. Will initiate and implement strategies focused strongly on reducing health inequalities ensuring excellence in health prevention, promotion and planning

The post holder will exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy, have an ability to reach complex and critical judgements and have decision making skills to satisfy the expectations and demands of the job.

The post holder will work with others and support research and evaluation in line with Trust Strategy to improve the quality and clinical effectiveness of nursing strategies. They will contribute to the clinical governance agenda by promoting evidence based practice.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm.

The successful post holder will be required to pass all pre-employment checks including prison security clearance.

Overview of the post
- To manage, lead and co-ordinate the implementation of the early days in custody model within HMP/YOI ISIS.
- To provide and develop a specialised programme of care, or care packages in HMP/YOI ISIS prison that will address the prisoner’s presenting vulnerabilities
- Mental health needs
- Substance misuse needs
- Trauma management ( history of abuse/gangs)
- Physical healthcare needs
- To provide safe and effective care pathways for all prisoners identified through the early days in custody assessments as needing care co-ordination.

- Ensuring Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults policy is understood and adhered to and that issues are reported appropriately within set timeframes
