**OVERVIEW**

To assist in the execution and finalization functions of GSG (Global sugars Group, part of T&L Sugars Ltd) all shipments of raw sugar, Palm Oil and direct consumption sugar in containers in the most timely, cost efficient manner.

**DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

Assist the shipping department to execute shipments in a timely manner

Where designated the shipping assistant will help
- Identify Sellers and Buyers with Traders
- Obtain and review copies of relevant purchase and sales contracts and report any queries.
- Review vessels’ loading and discharge plans
- Monitor vessel positions regularly by liaison with ship’s agents, ship-brokers and communicate as appropriate
- Issuance of bill of lading instructions
- Issuance of supervisors’ instructions
- Dealing and resolving of cargo quality issues at loadport with Shippers, surveyors and vessel Owners
- Issuance of declarations to owners for ship’s agents, load and discharge ports, letters of indemnity.
- Receive, check and approve shipping documents for payment
- Send written vessel nominations to buyers against contracts
- Raise invoices/documents for each shipment
- Check freight invoices
- Liaise with logistics desk for cargo customs clearance requirements.
- Make all appropriate computer entries for purchase, sales and voyage costs, both accruals and actual, meeting strict monthly deadlines.
- Pay Suppliers/invoice Customers for weekly stock receipts/deliveries
- Pay agents commissions for sales and purchases in accordance with agreed terms.

**WORK EXPERIENCES**

Experience working within shipping and administration in a commodity trading / shipping environment.

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**
- Computer literate Microsoft outlook 365
- Some knowledge of data base input
