**Job description and person specification**

**Purpose of Role**

British Glass represents the UK glass manufacturing industry, offering guidance to members on environmental, technical, trade, and legal policy issues; promoting glass and glass recycling; communicating the glass sector’s value and interests; and fostering innovation and collaboration to secure a sustainable future for glass.

**Main responsibilities**
- Building relationships with member companies and supporting the membership renewal process
- Organising meetings and events for members
- Taking minutes for member committee meetings
- Monitoring and answering information queries from member companies and the general public
- Researching information and keeping industry data updated
- Monitoring actions and tracking team KPIs

**Qualifications and experience**
- Experience working in an office/customer service environment (not essential)
- Excellent IT skills
- Enjoy working with spreadsheets, numbers and information
- Display excellent customer service skills
- 2 or more A-levels or equivalent is desirable

- Assertiveness and ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to work as part of teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently using own initiative
- Flexible approach to work requirements

- Driving license
- Prior knowledge or experience of the glass manufacturing sector

**Special features**
- During the course of these duties the post holder may have access to or witness commercially sensitive/confidential information. This must not be divulged to an unauthorised person at any time.
- Some out of normal office hours working, travel and over-night stays may be required.
- To ensure that health and safety standards are maintained and improved in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act etc 1974, and the health and safety policy statement, the post holder must ensure that safe systems of work are used within own area of responsibility.
- Flexible working including ability to work from home up to four days per week, in agreement with line manager.
