Job Summary:
We are a community farm near London Heathrow Airport providing farm, animal and horticulture related activities for people with disabilities and special needs.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Assistant to join our team on Saturday mornings. You will be responsible for providing feed care and support to our animals which include a large horse and donkeys and a range of other animals. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who have experience of working with animals and enjoy working in a small team environment.

**Duties**:
Ensure the overall well being of the animals

Provide food, water and clean bedding

Administer medications and treatments as directed.

Monitor animal behaviour and report any concerns or changes

Clean animal enclosures

Assist with animal grooming and animal cleaning activities

Provide supervision for volunteers

Provide supervision for visitors who will have disabilities or special needs

**Requirements**:
Previous experience in animal care including large animals

Ability to perform lifting as required for animal handling and equipment maintenance

Basic knowledge of veterinary practices is a plus

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

The position is for paid Saturday morning employment with the opportunity for working additional days to cover staff leave etc

Experience in the field of disability will be an advantage

Flexibility to cover for staff leave etc on weekdays will be an advantage

**Must be experienced and comfortable with managing large equines. We have a large horse and donkeys.**

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: £12.00 per hour
