Surgical Animal Care Assistant at IVC Evidensia UKWe are thrilled to invite applications from experienced candidates to join our team at Swift Referrals as a Surgical Animal Care Assistant.We are looking for a full‑time animal care assistant to work within our surgical and medicine teams. This role will include cleaning and maintenance of theatre equipment, supporting and assisting with the preparation of patients for surgical and medical procedures, and assisting in a veterinary theatre setting. The role would suit a team member with good organisational skills, a thirst for knowledge and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and work at high aseptic levels, given appropriate training.State‑of‑the‑art FacilitiesOpened in 2019 and purpose‑built to industry‑leading standards, Swift Referrals is a multi‑disciplinary referral hospital, offering the very best in veterinary excellence, all under one roof. We specialise in the areas of orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, housing world‑class facilities on our premises, from advanced imaging machines to specialist treatment and aftercare rooms. The hospital has fantastic equipment available, including a 1.5T Siemens MRI scanner, 128 Slice GE CT scanner, Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, an arthroscopy and state‑of‑the‑art operating theatres.We are fully committed to the well‑being of our team of over 80 employees, and we are thrilled to see how this is reflected in the consistent positive feedback in our team satisfaction surveys.ResponsibilitiesPrepare kits for surgery and maintain the cleanliness of theatres and the practice, ensuring high standards throughout.Assist in surgical procedures and work closely with clinicians and nurses to provide the highest level of individualized patient care.Ensure the hospitalisation facilities and equipment are cleaned and properly maintained.Support the wider team in delivering exceptional care.Role RequirementsAnimal Care qualifications are desirable.A strong team player with confident and effective communication skills.Good organisational skills.Self‑motivated and happy handling animals under supervision.Accuracy in following instructions and maintaining records.Eagerness to learn new tasks and adapt to new challenges.Working PatternThis is a full‑time position consisting of 40 hours per week, split over 4/5 days.
