Surgical Animal Care Assistant

We are thrilled to invite applications from experienced candidates to join our team at Swift Referrals as a Surgical Animal Care Assistant. We are looking for a full‑time animal care assistant to work within our surgical and medicine teams. This role will include cleaning and maintenance of theatre equipment, supporting and assisting with the preparation of patients for surgical and medical procedures, and assisting in a veterinary theatre setting. Responsibilities Prepare kits for surgery and maintain the cleanliness of theatres and the practice, ensuring high standards throughout. Assist in surgical procedures and work closely with clinicians and nurses to provide the highest level of individualized patient care. Ensure the hospitalisation facilities and equipment are cleaned and properly maintained. Support the wider team in delivering exceptional care as a proactive and reliable team member. Role Requirements Animal care qualifications are desirable. A strong team player with confident and effective communication skills. Good organisational skills. Self‑motivated and happy handling animals under supervision. Accuracy in following instructions and maintaining records. Eagerness to learn new tasks and adapt to new challenges. Working Pattern This is a full‑time position consisting of 40 hours per week, split over 4/5 days. You will also be required to provide holiday cover on weekends.
