Animal Care Assistant (Nights) at IVC Evidensia UK Join to apply for an night shift role working with the ECC department. You’ll work alongside another Animal Care Assistant, a Veterinary Surgeon, Registered Veterinary Nurses and Client Care Team members. Role Responsibilities Work under the direction of the Veterinary Nurse (VN) or Veterinary Surgeon (VS) at all times. Ensure high standards of care are given at all times. Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout all surgical areas. Understand and adhere to the Biosecurity Policy. Complete end‑of‑day cleaning duties in accordance with cleaning task sheets. Monitor for any Health and Safety issues within the practice and promote safe working. Stock check all areas, and order via the correct methods. Answer the phone when required, and learn basic Client Care (CCT) skills to support the CC Team. Assist with the washing, storage and organisation of uniforms. Recycle and maintain the refuse area. Assist with the management of clinical waste, including cadavers and associated tasks. Maintain all client‑facing areas, including the waiting area and consult rooms. Report any equipment issues or faults to a Lead Nurse. Hold patients for blood samples and non‑surgical treatments. Walk patients routinely. Assist in the theatre, prep and X‑ray rooms. Check all cupboards are fully stocked – fluids, IV lines, urinary catheters, bandage material. Rota This role involves working 38.5 hours per week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:00 pm‑7:00 am. Saturdays operate on a 1:2 rota. Ideal Candidate Sound knowledge of practice protocols. Animal knowledge and handling skills. Good communication skills within the team. Familiarity with commonly used veterinary terms. Good client care skills.
