Head of Privacy

This new role will respond to the challenge of ensuring SSCL services align with data protection (and associated) legislation by implementing standard methodology in data use, data sharing and privacy by design, leading a team which supports colleagues acrossthe breadth of our growing business, helping to safeguard the personal and sensitive data of thousands of individuals, through a variety of client accounts.
Utilising your own creativity, you will provide expert advice to the wider organisation for all aspects of Privacy Compliance (data protection) and Counter Fraud - often at pace - as well as developing and implementing compliance agreements within contractualframeworks.
Working closely with the Executive Team and the Extended Leadership team you will be assessing topics and services that really do affect and make a difference to people on a large scale so if working within an organisation which really does change lives issomething you are passionate about, we are for you
As well as providing assurance to the business you will be a natural leader with the ability to guide your team of 6 to maximise their skills and put them on the career path that allows their talents to flourish
**What you'll be doing**:

- Design and implement an annual Privacy & Counter Fraud programme to support the breadth of our services, our clients and meet agreed contractual obligations for the business
- Provide direct support to the DPO, Director of Information Governance & Counter Fraud and nominated Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO)
- Lead all aspects of the Privacy and Counter Fraud resources to ensure that the business is ably supported, with appropriate skills
- Lead and develop a Counter Fraud programme, aspiring to meet the GovS-13 Counter Fraud Standards (where applicable)
- Lead on ensuring that Privacy Compliance activities are coordinated into the core business functions
- Chair internal partner meetings and support during new bids, client on-boarding and client renewals
- Supervise and ensure timely completion and provision of Data Protection Impact Assessments to enable privacy by design and default
- Lead and support during significant data breach incidents and suspicious events reported providing timely direction, recommendations and mitigations

**What you'll bring**:

- Experience in Leading a team with a mix of skills and objectives
- Credibility in advising colleagues of standard process and incident/crisis management
- Understanding of the Data Protection Legislation requirements
- A strong contribution to ensuring that systems and processes meet all the required information-related legislative and regulatory obligations
- Having the capabilities to deliver training and provide advice and mentorship to personnel with key Data Protection responsibilities to enable greater understanding and completion of compliance evidence
- Analytical thinking - Able to tackle issues in a logical, step-by-step way. Break problems down into component parts and consider issues from a range of different angles

**Salary**: up to £65,000 per annum (dependant on experience) + 3% flex fund
