Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Privacy Advisor to join our Group Privacy team. The Privacy Advisor will provide expert advice on the effective implementation and operation of data protection controls across Bupa, reporting to the Group Head of Privacy.

What you’ll do:
Advise the business on data protection legislation and best practice, including performing Privacy Impact Assessments. In addition to:

- Working as required alongside the Risk, Information Technology and People teams to assess, evaluate, implement and embed Privacy and Data Protection policies and procedures.
- Working with Senior management, Risk and Compliance and Internal Audit teams to establish appropriate oversight and assurance of privacy and data protection risks.
- Initiating and facilitating activities to foster privacy awareness within the organisation.
- Developing privacy guidelines and templates
- Leading on privacy compliance projects
- Providing training
- Assisting the business in understanding the commercial implications of changes in privacy law

What you’ll bring:

- Significant knowledge and experience of global privacy and data protection issues impacting the insurance, health and care industry
- Well-developed advocacy skills and experienced in negotiating and agreeing collaborative approaches with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and simply to an audience with different skills and levels of understanding
- Team player who can work effectively across different and diverse teams and who is able to lead and develop projects
- Demonstrated ability to operate in line with Bupa’s Values
