Job description

As a member of our Family Intervention Service a commitment to whole family, solution focused, integrated working is essential to achieve the best possible outcomes for children, young people and families. We work with a range of internal and external partners such as Education, Health and Police.

You must have GCSE or O’ Level in Maths and English (grade 9-4) or equivalent and a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Social Care, Early Years, Youth work or other relevant experience.

Applicants must have significant experience of working with vulnerable children and their families, around child development, the importance of parental engagement and working with other agencies or in a relevant setting and be skilled at understanding information and assessing risk. Understanding the complexity of relationships in some families and the ability to resolve conflict and work with families to support them with parenting skills is also required.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
