Specialist Independent Social Work company Advanced Child Care Assessments Limited is looking for experienced Family Support Workers to become Parenting Practitioners/Social Work Assistants and join our growing team. At ACCA we specialise in expert social work investigations and assessments.

**The role**
- We require parenting practitioners/social work assistants to undertake direct work with parents and children. The work will entail a rotating shift pattern within parents’ homes or within the community.
- The work will be on a self-employed basis and the working hours may vary depending on the needs of the service and the families you are working with.
- The work will include evening, weekend and overnight work. It is essential that applicants are available to work all of these shifts.
- You will need to have a solution-focused can do approach and you will be committed to working positively and constructively with parents who present with a range of challenges.
- You will assist our independent social workers in the preparation of their social work assessments.
- You will need to provide daily evidence based reports.

**The Responsibilities**
- You will need to be completely child-focused and ensure that you are able to implement appropriate safeguarding measures.
- You will take responsibility for the supervision, monitoring and assessment of parents in their care of their child/ren.
- You will provide daily written evidence-based reports.
- You will need to challenge difficult behaviour.
- You should have experience of working in the field of social care, health, education, youth work, police or probation.
- You will have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- You must be able to engage with parents who may present with a range of difficulties.
- You must be adept in providing ongoing advice and support.
- You will need to provide modelling of parenting skills and provide appropriate feedback.
- You will need to have an understanding of children’s development.
- You will need to have an understanding of positive parenting strategies.
- You will need to work in sometimes difficult and challenging circumstances in an anti-oppressive, supportive manner.
- You must be able to work with other professionals.
- You must have an overall commitment to safeguarding the needs of children.

**The Shifts**
- Week 1 - 3 hours on one day
- Week 2 - 2x four hour sessions
- Week 3 - 2x six hour sessions.
- Week 4- 2 x8 hour sessions.
- Week 5- 2x 10 hour sessions.
- Week 6- 2x 12 hour sessions
- 7am-7pm.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Freelance

**Salary**: £14.00-£17.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Night shift
