**Locality Leader / Care Team Leader, L'Arche Kent**
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Reports to: Care and Support Coordinator/Registered Manager
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (up to 29.5 hours dedicated to management and leadership tasks, remaining hours providing care and support work)
**Salary**: £30,890.08 rising to £32,273.28 in year two
Place of work: St. Stephen’s Locality Community houses Canterbury; L’Arche Kent office
Contract type: full-time, permanent

**Main purpose of the role**:
As a Locality Leader, you will be required to guide the service in authentically living the Mission and Values of L'Arche, undertake delegated duties and tasks given by the Care and Support Coordinator/Registered Manager while creating a sense of community and belonging in line with L’Arche values.
You will **lead and manage a service for 4 people with a learning disability and a team of 11 Support Assistants**, across two supported living houses in a walkable distance in Canterbury in line with best practices in the delivery of care and support to people with a learning disability and the requirements of the L'Arche policy, Care Quality Commission [CQC] and commissioners while complying with all the policies of L’Arche Community, both written and spoken.
This role requires experience in Social Care as while performing Support Assistant duties you will support people with learning disabilities living in a variety of settings, in line with agreed support and care plans, in all aspects of their everyday lives.

**You may have experience in the following roles**: Supported Living Manager, Learning Disability Team Leader, Autism Support Manager, Care Team Manager, Residential Home Manager, Registered Manager, Support Manager, Service Manager, Deputy Care Manager, Learning Disability Service Manager, Community Support Manager, Social Care Team Leader, etc.

**Key essential criteria**:
- Ability to work with people with learning disabilities in a Person-Centred way, to develop relationships and to facilitate their empowerment.
- Ability to support and built relationships with people who express behaviours of distress and concern.
- Ability to lead, inspire, motivate, develop and delegate to a team, working flexibly to allow the strengths of others to be utilised.
- Level 3 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Adults) for England; or other equivalent relevant professional qualification.
- Ability to work under pressure, set priorities and meet deadlines.
