Team Leader Job Description
Team Leader role for Citta Care LTD in Canterbury. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead from the front.
The post is 37.5 hours per week rostered over seven days on a permanent contract with a salary from £24,978 - £26,778 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. You will be expected to work shifts over a 24-hour period including some sleep nights depending on the needs of the service. As Citta Care is supported housing you will be expected to work weekends and bank holidays as part of your working week.

**Team Leader Requirements**
- Passes in English and Maths GCSE Grade 4+ / C or a Functional Skills qualification to the equivalent
- NVQ 3 in Care is held or to demonstrate a commitment to working towards this qualification
- Previous management experiences - desirable
- Previous support work experience - essential
- Hold a full UK driving license with no more than 6 points and to have access to their own vehicle is desired but not essential
- Proof of valid MOT, road tax and insurance including business cover

**Team Leader Key Tasks**
The Team Leader will provide first line management and lead a team of support staff. They will be responsible for ensuring all individuals receive high-quality, person-centred support.
They will lead and support practice development within the team and will provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
In order to ensure the Team Leader has the opportunity to establish and maintain direct contact and involvement with those we support, there will continue to be direct support to our residents as part of the role.
Team Leaders will be responsible for preparing and maintaining up to date support plans and co-ordinating the provision of high quality, individualised, support by support staff for the more complex residents. You will ensure good joint working practices are established and maintained with relevant parties.
Key to the job is adopting a proactive approach to achieving a positive, engaging, promotional and relationship building role with Local Authorities and all other stakeholders
**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the Service Manager with overseeing the day to day running of designated services
- Support the Service Manager to ensure rotas are in place to meet contracted hours of provision and effectively support the individual
- Support the Service Manager in audits as appropriate and report findings accordingly
- Implement and monitor service systems according to policy and procedure
- Manage all finances relating to the service in accordance with financial policies and procedures
- To support staff in the delivery of service
- Provide direct supervision to support staff
- Provide on-site coaching and mentoring to staff
- Lead staff in writing, implementing and reviewing support plans which reflect the interests and wishes of the individual
- Identify staff training needs and plan to meet these in conjunction with the Service Manager
- To contribute to the service provision and development
- To work on shift as agreed per service, providing direct support to the individual
- Promote and support inclusion throughout the service, identifying and discussing employment and leisure opportunities in the community
- Facilitate Person Centred Planning as required
- Effectively identify and contribute to learning and development activities including meeting organisational targets
- Develop and maintain effective communication systems within the service
- Contribute to and chair regular team meetings in the Service Managers absence
- Ensure relevant parties involved in planning and review of support are regularly updated on changes and progress through regular, planned reviews and reports
- Establish and maintain effective communication with families and relevant others
- Undertake other duties as required
