Job Summary

The Senior Commercial and Contract Specialist plays an essential role in providing strategic financial advice and detailed commercial and contract analysis to assigned business unit client groups. As a senior leader in the Commercial segment, you will be required to build capability and drive a high-performance culture within your function that effectively contributes to achieving strategic and operational objectives. You thrive on developing insightful analysis on critical business issues and testing hypotheses that strongly contribute to operational decision making, that ultimately impact long term economic performance.

Job Description

As a Senior Commercial and Contracts Specialist, you will play an essential role in providing detailed commercial analysis and contract advice as part of the bid management and customer renewal process. You will leverage your strong commercial acumen to analyse customer deals and take lead on shaping commercial terms to achieve profitable outcomes for Telstra International. You will also review and counsel sales teams on key customer agreements to ensure Telstra International’s interests are protected.

This is how you bring your role to life:
- Develop deal strategy with opportunity owner. Identify compelling commercial approach and win themes- Draft, collate, brief, review, and obtain approvals for commercial and contract negotiations, and contract variations to Telstra's standard agreements and bespoke customer contracts- Analyze complex commercial related contract positions that deviate from company’s standard position and/or terms and agreements, and balance risk tolerance of such positions while driving profitable growth.-
- Contract Management of strategic accounts, including:
- a) managing the customer contractual relationship inc. governance obligations- b) maximising contract value, minimising margin leakage & scope creep and identifying opportunities to cross/up sell services- c) managing compliance to contractual terms- d) managing contract risk including advising on risk mitigation strategies and consequences of failure to comply with commitments during the contract lifecycle- Provide advice, counsel and recommendations on commercial and contractual matters, and contract interpretation- Build strong and effective relationships with internal operational stakeholders (including Sales, Legal, Project Delivery, Service Management, Business Operations and Pricing) to support the management of contract deliverables, risks, and obligations- Recommend and support initiatives to implement best practices in commercial & contract management and drive standardisation across regions- Other duties as may be assigned in relation to Commercial Contract Management
