The Central Support and Tracing Hub use their operational expertise to resolve complex queries and provide support to the wider business. The Absconder Tracing Team form part of the hub who deal with immigration absconders who have failed to comply with conditions of Immigration bail, temporary admission, have absconded from port or have escaped from Immigration detention.

This post offers the exciting opportunity to join the Central Support and Tracing Hub.

The post holder will be reviewing cases deemed as “out of contact” and the management and review of these will be required to bring a person back into a compliant regime that would progress cases.

This will require an enthusiastic and driven individual to help us deliver on our ambitious programme of work.

The Central Support and Tracing Hub offer a flexible resourcing model therefore individuals may be required to undertake additional tasks. Staff must be willing to adapt and proactively develop their role to support other work in the team.

This will be considered according to business priorities, the individual’s competencies, skills and availability.

This will require an enthusiastic and driven individual to help us deliver on our ambitious programme of work. Also, to ensure all information is handled, stored and disseminated in accordance with Home Office data and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) policies.

**Person specification**:
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

- Interrogating Home Office systems, to ensure cases fit the absconder criteria and to perform checks on internal systems and databases for traces of a person
- Using Home Office systems to manage “Out of Contact” cases as necessary, working closely with the Central Support and Tracing Case Queries team, Reporting and Offender Management (ROM), Foreign National Offender Returns Command (FNORC) and National Returns Progression Command (NRPC) and wider business
- Working closely with Higher Executive Officer manager(s) and wider team to understand strategic priorities and undertake bulk checks of data
- Working closely with the Police National Computer (PNC) ensuring removal of cases that no longer fit the absconder criteria
- Updating Home Office systems and workflow tools accurately
- Prioritising cases/the work of the team in line with strategic direction and requirements
- Assisting in the gathering of intelligence on absconders
- Adopting, integrating and working with the transformation from the current Home Office systems to the new Atlas Case Working system
- Acting readily on feedback from management in a positive and responsive way
- Working closely with peers and colleagues to promote an inclusive environment
- Promoting effective individual and team performance through ongoing learning and reflection on your own Personal Development needs
- Managing of a team of Administrative Officers as required
- Frequent travel to other offices conducting tracing may be required

The successful post holder should have demonstrable experience of:

- Working with/analysing information with the ability to identify trends and highlight risks
- Good communication skills both orally and in writing to internal and external stakeholders
