East Cambs Street Scene have an exciting opportunity for a **Development Officer** to join the team.

**About Us**:
East Cambs Street Scene (ECSS) is the Council’s trading company providing waste and recycling collection services to around 40,000 properties each week, as well as ensuring the streets remain clean and tidy and attractive to their residents and the thousandsof tourists that visit the area each year. We have supported the Council to achieve a top 25 position amongst all authorities for the amount of waste they recycle, but we want to do more.
**Development Officer** - The Role:
Working for ECSS, you will be supporting the Development Manager, helping to shape the organisation’s waste communications strategy and support the promotion, communication and creation of awareness campaigns undertaken by ECSS and the District Council.Using your experience of data analysis, you will interpret performance data to help prioritise and target specific areas of development within the service whilst being reactive to emerging legislative changes.
**Development Officer** - Key Responsibilities:
- You will assist in the drafting of waste and street cleansing strategy and operational plans and the
organisation’s response to legislative changes, including data analysis and reporting
- You will participate in internal and district-wide environmental projects, as well as those undertaken by our county-wide partnership (RECAP) and national campaigns
- You will be involved in performance recording, reporting, monitoring and benchmarking for the services provided by ECSS, to ensure compliance with legislation and that set targets are achieved
- As part of your role you will work with a wide variety of stakeholders including Councillors, residents, local community groups and schools to promote waste hierarchy principles and the services provided by ECSS
- This role is varied and visible, and involves contact with a range of people, including our operational workforce
- Occasional pre-arranged out-of-hours working (early morning, evening or weekends) will be required
- The successful applicant will be flexible and adapt to business needs, and be able to react to developments at a local and national level

- Enthusiastic, organised and a creative team player who is keen to make a positive change for the
district’s residents
- Have a passion for the environment, and proven interest in waste management
- Be experienced in or have knowledge of communication campaigns to a wide range of audiences including schools and community groups
- Have a proactive approach to problem solving
- Have great communication skills
Want to get it right first time for the customer
- Have excellent data collection and analysis skills
- Have a driving licence
