Summary We have an exciting opportunity to lead a team of welcome staff looking after Allan Bank (Grasmere) and Townend (Troutbeck). As Welcome Manager, you will jointly head up the Visitor Welcome Team to welcome our visitors and help them enjoy their visit.

You'll be the most experienced person on site and acting as Duty Manager - taking responsibility for site security, managing risks and handling cash. You’ll be experienced in managing people and delivering outstanding customer service, but also happy toroll your sleeves up and clean the toilets. We're looking for a fabulous team player who is creative in planning and delivering events as well as hardworking with an attention to detail on property presentation, whether that's interpretation or signage.

What it's like to work here It's great fun to be part of our team looking after Allan Bank and Townend and sharing these fabulous places with our supporters.

Work on weekends and Bank Holidays will be necessary as part of a rota.

What you'll be doing You’ll have overall responsibility for the team, and their safety and working practices, working closely with the House & Collections Manager and other colleagues to develop the site offer.

Who we're looking for
- Good practical experience in visitor business,in tourist, heritage or relevant visitor services environment
- Naturally curious about people, and with a passion to and experience of delivering the highest standards of customer service
- Excellent organisational skills
- Confident leader, adaptable and responsive under pressure
- Ability to initiate service recovery without senior support
- Good IT skills (all MS Office)
