This is a truly important opportunity to make a difference to others and to your career. **What we’re looking for**: - Do you have a qualification or experience of Treatment and Recovery for people with drug or Alcohol problems?- If you don't have a qualification or experience, do you have an insight into addiction, and the impact of substance misuse?- Do you understand addiction and the impacts of substance misuse, along with experience of working with vulnerable people who have experienced trauma and may have complex and challenging support needs? - Do you have experience of working with other agencies and statutory organisations, particularly within the Substance misuse, housing, and social care sectors?- Do you have a good knowledge of statutory and community services? If so, this role is perfect for you Here at Peabody, we have opportunities for a **Specialist Drug & Alcohol Support Workers** on a Permanent basis at our Harlow Scheme, Essex. - Even if you do not have a qualification or experience, but an insight into addiction we would still love to hear from you, as we can discuss a potential trainee pathway in this role_ **A bit about the role**: As a** Specialist Drug & Alcohol Support Worker,** you will support individual customers who have been referred to the service and are in _Recovery_. Your role and that of the team will be to develop a package of support that enables the customers to reduce the risk of harm caused by drugs and alcohol, develop their confidence in accessing the local community and maintain their tenancies. You will also use your skills and experience to offer specialised advice and guidance to colleagues and customers. In line with the schemes policies and procedures you will also offer specialised interventions when required. **Some of the key results for the role include: ** - Ensure the effective delivery of the Drug & Alcohol, Supported Housing service for our customers with a history of addiction who are on the recovery journey. Provide proactive and effective specialised support by modelling good practice, advising on, and intervening in, complex and/or high-risk cases. Provide personalised, structured, and flexible support to our customers to enable individuals to improve and maintain their independence. To work collaboratively with partners, to ensure the Drug & Alcohol Supported Housing service provides an all-round Holistic service for customers. - This role will require an Enhanced DBS check. _ - The role includes working shifts to ensure there is cover for the service 24 hrs a day 7 days a week 365 days a year.
