**Job summary**:

The Defence CBRN Centre is responsible for Training Defence to Fight and Prevail in a CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) Environment. We are looking for a friendly, well-organised and adaptable person to work alongside other civilians and military personnel and be part of the team as a Technical Storekeeper.
This role is advertised at 37 hours a week over a 4.5 day period.
**Job description**:
The Technical Storekeeper position is an essential role within the Quartermaster Department, responsible for the management and control of all CBRN and technical equipment for the Centre.
Key Areas of Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the management of the day to day running of the store
- Issuing and receipting equipment to personnel
- Ensuring all equipment is clean and serviceable
- Maintaining documentation for stores accounting and auditing
- Conduct maintenance, low level repair and testing of CBRN equipment and consumables (including delivery to and collection from contractors if required)
- Provide CBRN equipment technical advice & assistance to Centre personnel and outside agencies
- Support the Quartermaster with the disposal of hazardous materials and waste
In-house and external training related to the role will be provided, including the All-Arms Unit Store person Course. Training in the logistics field represents opportunities to gain industry recognised qualifications. In addition, training will be provided regarding the repair and maintenance of CBRN equipment.
A Storekeeper role requires a degree of physical ability as you will be expected to lift and carry boxes and equipment of varying sizes around the store (also load / offload vehicles), and place / retrieve items and boxes from shelving that may be above head height. The recommended maximum handling weight applicants can expect to lift is between 16 -25kg in accordance with HSE guidance.
This post may attract the opportunity for overtime as there may be a demand on the store which is outside normal working hours.
**Person specification**:
We are looking for someone that has strong customer service skills along with basic digital literacy skills and a basic understanding of electrics and mechanics (low level equipment repair).
Applicants should be prepared to undertake training courses of up to 2 weeks in duration and in various areas of the UK for the following qualifications: MJDI MA (Material Accountant); All Arms Unit Store person Course; JAMES user; Dangerous Goods Consignor and EET (Electrical Equipment Testing).
