**DUTIES**:

- To assist the Head of Finance in keeping the accounts and preparing the annual Statements of Accounts
- To produce as directed reports
- Monitoring of income and expenditure
- Preparation as directed of annual estimates of income and expenditure for budget setting
- Assist in the preparation of returns required by the DfE, ESFA and Teachers Pension
- Prepare forecasts and business plans as required
- Maintain cash flow projections for current and future years, including analysing costs and other statistical records
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT return to HMRC

Identifying and managing tactical and financial risks (including insurance)
- Reconciling bank accounts.
- To supervise the finance assistants in day-to-day operations including sales and purchase ledger
- Payroll duties
- Provide checks to the monthly payment of all salaries and wages, including PAYE, Superannuation and National Insurance Contributions and compliance with regulations for benefits in kind
- Analysis and reconciliation of all payroll accounts
- Respond to personnel payroll issues as they arise
- Pension administration for the Trust, this includes, liaising with Teachers Pensions and LGPS on queries and the Teacher's Pension annual return

**Skills and attributes necessary**
- Previous/recent Finance experience
- Part qualified or qualified in either AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIPFA
- Ability to work within a team e to make decisions and work independently
- Great attention to detail
- Able to prioritise and work towards strict timescales
- Having a flexible and proactive approach
