**Job summary**:
Engineering Support Transformation is a key component of the Defence Support Strategy and is at the start of its’ Delivery phase. It will enable its outcomes by building a more capable Engineering Support capability across the Defence landscape. As part of the EST Programme Management Office the Project Controls Support Officer will provide robust project controls support and contribute to the governance reporting for the EST Programme.

The EST Project Controls Support post provides essential support to the whole EST programme team in the performance of their day-to-day tasks and in assisting them with all aspects of developing and monitoring project controls for the programme and Project Delivery teams. The post holder is pivotal to ensuring accurate governance reporting is carried out and the smooth running of the team outputs.

We are looking for an individual with experience of performance reporting to a high standard across all aspects of project controls

This post is advertised for 37 hours per week

**Job description**:
Provide support to the Programme Team to coordinate completion of the monthly programme pack.

Co-ordinate Learning from Experience activities for the EST Programme

Provide Information and Knowledge Management support to the Programme Team, providing guidance, communications and presentations and providing effective management of project artefact sharing, organisation and filing conventions

Provide secretariat support to the various EST boards, including the governance, programme and project review boards, Attending and recording minutes from meetings ensuring actions are communicated and delivered

Quality Management lead for the programme quality planning, quality assurance, quality control and continuous improvement.

Manage the induction phase for new starters, ensuring provision of all IT equipment and software access is in place

Line Management of one Band D

**Person specification**:
A good understanding of programme/project management methodologies and experience of working in a programme office.

High standards in both written and oral communication skills.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work.

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Experience of performance reporting in a fast-moving environment

Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.

Awareness of Learning from Experience activity

Experience, or willingness to learn quality planning, quality assurance, quality control and continuous improvement activities

Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as lead point of contact for some external parties.

**Essential criteria**

Experience of working in Programme/project management

Preparation of performance reporting presenting statistics and researching new information

Communicating and Influencing at all levels

Line Management experience
