**Job summary**:
Engineering Support Transformation (EST) is a key component of the Defence Support Strategy, enabling its outcomes by building a more capable organisation across Defence. EST enhances decision-making through improved data, digital tools and skills, leading to more reliable, maintainable and available assets. This will unlock the cashable efficiencies and productivity improvements demonstrated by industry, enabling resources to be redeployed more effectively across to Defence.

**Job description**:

- The role of the Project Delivery lead will manage EST pilots and (3xC1) project managers on a day-to-day basis. The Project Delivery Lead is responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of the projects to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints. The Project Delivery Lead has a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised. This requires a professional, rigorous, yet flexible approach to manage in-flight projects to a high standard, with the ability to shift resource to support emerging workstreams, and ad hoc workstreams.**Person specification**:
The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Day to day management and leadership of 3 x C1 project manager projects. Provide effective leadership and management controls while providing support, guidance, and coaching for the PMs.
- Developing and maintain Project Plans. Identify and set appropriate Project Controls. Look across a wide range of information and drawing well-reasoned conclusions.
- Identifying and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate. Identify and work with related projects to manage inter dependencies.
- Ensuring optimum delivery of pilot to hit the forecasted Benefit target and achievement against programme outcomes.
- Undertake project assurance and reviews across pilots at key stages to evaluate progress, compliance and probability of delivery to provide confidence to senior management, customers and key stakeholders.
- Building effective working relationships at pace, requiring open and honest dialogue with teams to advise and implement project delivery action in their area including engagement with delivery partner and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
- Collaborate with the PMO to ensure effective governance, decision making, assurance and reporting mechanisms are in place for project review drumbeat and alignment with wider programme governance.
- Manage financial performance of projects within agreed tolerances to control expenditure against approved project budgets and provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
