We are aiming to recruit an enthusiastic individual with appropriate disciplinary experience, educational qualification and expertise to provide teaching and support in computational aspects of our courses. The person will be engaged in tutoring, lecturing and project supervision, will advise staff and students on computing-related issues, and will liaise with the College’s central Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) team in support of the department’s computing provision.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
The post holder will be primarily:

- Provide teaching support for computationally based courses including lectures, tutorials and assessment;
- Promote digital learning in the department, including at the departmental teaching committee;
- Provide technical support for the usage of commercial codes used in teaching and research (including Abaqus and Star-CCM+);
- Maintain the departmental Linux environment which is used for computing courses and computational research;
- Supervise undergraduate and Master research projects;
- Assist with personal tutoring and student pastoral care as appropriate;
- Undertake duties related to admissions, course administration, including organisation of teaching activities under direction, attendance records, Health and Safety matters relating to practical activities;
- Undertake other appropriate duties as specified by the Director of Aeronautics Education

**Essential requirements**:

- A first degree in science, engineering or a related discipline that places emphasis on computational methods.
- Have, or are nearing completion of, a PhD (or equivalent) in science, engineering or a related discipline, preferably with experience in computational methods and software.
- An appropriate teaching qualification (or equivalent) in Higher Education
- HEA fellowship of equivalent
