Research Fellow/advanced Research Fellow in Imaging

We are seeking to recruit a Research Fellow or Advanced Research Fellow to study human Natural Killer cells, T cells and other immune cells, using super-resolution microscopy alongside molecular and cellular biology technqiues.
You will carry out research within Prof Dan Davis’ group in the Sir Alexander Fleming Building, South Kensington Campus. Our lab uses microscopy to study the changing arrangements of molecules on the surface of immune cells as they survey other cells for signs of disease. Understanding the molecular mechanisms which underpin a strong and long-lived immune response will seed new ideas for immune therapies. Specific projects in the lab are currently funded by a variety of sources, including UKRI, Wellcome Trust, Cancer Research UK and pharmaceutical companies including GSK and Bristol Myers Squibb. There is a specific focus on human NK cells and T cells.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-equipped multidisciplinary team studying immune cell biology in health and disease. The team is relocating from The University of Manchester and this is an opportunity for an experienced researcher to advance their career through having a senior role within a dynamic research lab.
**Duties and responsibilities**:
You will help produce independent and original research as part of a team of postdocs, PhD students and technicians, within Davis’s lab. Crucially, this post is targeted at applicants with an excellent track record in postdoctoral research, seeking a career step change by helping to co-run the Davis lab.
**Essential requirements**:
You should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in biology, cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related discipline.
Extensive experience in immune cell biology or microscopy as well as leadership skills.
This research itself is inherently interdisciplinary and you will require prior experience in one or more of the following: immune cell biology, state-of-the-art microscopy, complex data analysis, molecular and cellular biology techniques, cancer biology and immunology.
