**The Opportunity**:

- We have an exciting opportunity for an International Contracts Officer working within our UK Export function at our Helicopter division.As International Contracts Officer, you will be joining a small team, working with a portfolio of international customers to undertake the management and administration of existing contracts and agreements. You will support and/or lead bids and proposals to ensure they are discharged in accordance with company business objectives.You will be interfacing with foreign governments and as such, an understanding of principles and cultures will be key to ensuring successful relationships.Your base will be our Yeovil site with a mixture of onsite and remote working.You will have the opportunity for regular international travel and there is scope for you to progress in this role, working towards Contracts Manager level.We have some fantastic benefits, which include:

- Monitor the delivery of key contract obligations, including deliverables
- Ensure all commercial aspects of the contract are executed
- Monitor and report on the achievement to the Customer of its contractual obligations
- Support the Contracts Manager in the contract closure activity to ensure successful completion
- Negotiate amendments and execute contracts for low complexity, known and repeat business
- Support the Contracts or Commercial Manager in contract negotiations
- Negotiate the price for low complexity, known and repeat business
- Independently review the price of proposals prior to submission to the Customer
- Fulfil the role of the commercial lead on low value/non-strategic bids/proposals
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external Customers of equivalent level that enable effective working and facilitate the achievement of both the company’s and Customer’s contractual objectives
- Take responsibility for final approval of the bid/proposal, in accordance with the Authorisations and Approvals set out in the UK Products for Export’s Functional Manual, prior to submission to the Customer.

**What we are looking for**:

- Previous experience in bids/proposals and contract management
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels
- Be confident in presenting to peers, internally and externally
- A good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Be competent at reading and understanding contracts.
