The Role:

As Payroll Manager, you will lead the delivery of Oxfam's end‑to‑end payroll for approximately 1,800 staff across four pay groups, processing monthly payrolls in both USD and GBP using ADP and PeopleSoft. You will also oversee the organisation's expense management process, ensuring the timely and accurate administration of twice‑monthly expense runs through Concur. This role is central to maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and service for colleagues across the organisation.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

  • Excellent knowledge of payroll and expenses systems such as ADP and Concur
  • Substantial accounting experience and knowledge
  • Proven management skills and experience
  • Advanced Excel experience
  • Significant process and system development experience
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering continual improvement
  • Excellent planning skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • A high degree of self-motivation and willingness to take initiative
  • Innovative, flexible and adaptable
  • Hands on problem solving of a range of issues
  • Effective communication and high-level influencing skills
  • Drive to achieve results
