Job Summary

An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our operational processes has opened up at The Imperial Hotel. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for driving efficiency and productivity within the organisation. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Food and Beverage department to ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial performance. This role involves supervising department heads across key operational areas such as Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance, ensuring consistent service delivery in line with the hotel's 4-star and 2 AA Rosette standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of all operational departments to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Ensure all guest service standards and hotel policies are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to develop and implement operational strategies and goals.
  • Lead, train, and motivate department managers and the wider team to achieve performance targets and maintain a high level of morale.
  • Monitor guest feedback (online and in-person) and take proactive steps to resolve issues and enhance satisfaction.
  • Oversee staff scheduling, department budgets, inventory control, and cost-efficiency initiatives.
  • Take lead on managing all aspects of H&S, Compliance & achieving targeted scores on audits
  • Co-ordinate and oversee all aspects of conferences and events, from staff levels, room set ups and execution, ensuring seamless delivery and a high-quality guest experience.
  • Handle guest complaints or requests promptly and professionally
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure a seamless operation

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel operations management, preferably in a 4-star or higher property.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • In-depth knowledge of hotel operational systems (e.g., PMS, POS, housekeeping software).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Flexible, hands-on approach and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of budget management and operational KPIs.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to excellence in guest service.

This role is 45 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7.
