Deputy Head of Faculty – Land based

As part of the College's ongoing investment in our staff team we are looking to appoint to this position in our Faculty of Land based & Equine. This area provides a broad curriculum covering a range of courses in a range of subjects including agriculture, arboriculture, countryside management, horticulture and floristry to name but a few.
Interviews for this role will be taking place week commencing 15 December 2025.
Your dutiesYou will:
- Lead curriculum planning and development to ensure industry relevance.
- Monitor teaching standards through observations and training.
- Deliver up to 7.5 hours of high-quality teaching weekly.
- Oversee student performance and implement timely interventions.
- Provide pastoral and tutorial support.
- Build strong links with employers and professional bodies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate digital and skills-based learning.

Person specificationThe successful candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:
- Must hold a teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) and have extensive experience in Further Education.
- A degree or relevant professional qualification in the subject area is essential.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and support staff development.
- Experience in curriculum development, quality assurance, and strategic planning.
- Ability to analyse and use data to drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrable evidence of improving learner achievement.
- Experience in an agricultural role or environment would be beneficial although not essential.
