Overview

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our passionate kitchen team. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to maintain our high standards of food quality, support the team, and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who has at least 3 years experience within a bar and bistro setting and has the leadership skills to inspire others while maintaining the authenticity and excellence that Dukes is known for.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and production activities.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.
  • Oversee food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering when required.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and used correctly.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
  • Strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food production processes.
  • A passion for culinary arts and creativity in menu development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £24,565.27-£33,970.06 per year
