What's the role?

Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager as a key member of the Group's Financial Reporting team, we are looking for a motivated, proactive finance professional who brings enthusiasm and a hands-on approach to driving excellence in financial reporting. As Group Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for the preparation of the Group's consolidated management accounts together with the management accounts of group-level and parent company entities. You will also be responsible for the preparation of the statutory consolidated financial statements and the statutory financial statements of the Group's subsidiaries.

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:00, 40 hours per week. Hybrid working is on offer, consisting of 2 days in office and 3 days at home.

Key Responsibilities:

Some of the responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare consolidated annual financial statements and supporting financial schedules under IFRS.
  • Prepare and post statutory consolidation adjustments including supporting workings.
  • Prepare the subsidiary and hold company financial statements under FRS 101.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts, including full consolidated income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and segmental analysis.
  • Open and close ledgers for the operating divisions.
  • Review month-end financial packs delivered by operating divisions and understand variances against budget.
  • Prepare monthly Board pack and related key financial schedules including analysis of in month and year to date results.
  • Manage parent company ledgers throughout the month including recording and monitoring of ad-hoc costs.
  • Prepare and post consolidation journals.
  • Manage intercompany elimination process and prepare and post elimination journals.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have/be:

  • CIMA/CA/ACCA/ICAS or equivalent qualification or qualified by experience.
  • Proven experience in a business or finance environment.
  • Familiarity with all Microsoft packages with advanced excel skills.
  • Experience of general ledger and consolidation systems; knowledge and experience of Dynamics 365 an advantage.
  • Experience with month-end/year end close process.
  • Experience with Group consolidations an advantage.
  • Experience in application of technical accounting standards.
  • Thorough practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
