Anstee Bridge is a creative, alternative provision and outreach service within AfC's Educational Services. It supports students in Years 7–11 who face social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges that impact their engagement with education. Through creative workshops and bespoke learning experiences, Anstee Bridge helps students build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills to support their reintegration into education and the wider community.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, organised, and creative Administrative Support Assistant to join our Anstee Bridge provision. This is a key role in supporting the daily operations of the service and ensuring the smooth delivery of programmes for students.

You will work closely with, and provide administrative support to, the Head of Service, Katherine Greening, assisting in the day-to-day running of Anstee Bridge. The role will also involve helping to plan, implement and evaluate group and individualised programmes of learning for students, supporting both the administrative and practical aspects of the service.

This position is varied and fast-paced, requiring someone who is highly organised, adaptable, and confident in managing competing priorities. The role is based on site with students, and there may be occasions when you are asked to support with the delivery of sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Head of Service, including managing and responding to requests, scheduling, and diary coordination.
  • Contribute to the planning and coordination of creative workshops, events, and student programmes.
  • Support the activities of FAB (Friends of Anstee Bridge Charity), including assisting with fundraising and income generation initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records, data, and databases, ensuring full compliance with GDPR.
  • Prepare, collate, and organise materials and resources for student learning and workshops.
  • Create and manage Google Forms and other digital tools to support programme administration and feedback.
  • Take and distribute accurate minutes for meetings, ensuring follow-up actions are tracked and completed.
  • Communicate effectively with internal colleagues, schools, families, and partner agencies.
  • Use a range of digital tools, including Google Workspace, to support efficient and collaborative working.
  • Assist with the evaluation and monitoring of programmes, providing administrative and creative support as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A passion for Achieving for Children's vision, mission and values: Trust, Empower, Respect.
  • Proven administrative experience, ideally in an education, youth, or creative environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
  • Good digital literacy and confidence using technology to streamline processes (e.g. Google Workspace).
  • An adaptable and flexible approach, able to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and respond positively to change.
  • A creative and solution-focused mindset, with enthusiasm for supporting young people's development.
  • Education: GCSE or equivalent (Level 2 qualification) in Maths and English (Essential).
