Job title: Claims Broker / Technician

Salary: £45,000

Location: Hybrid  - 3 days in London office

PURPOSE OF ROLE


Lawes are working alongside a leading insurance firm who are seeking a skilled Claims Broker/Technician to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company and advance your career in claims handling.

You will provide exceptional claims support to non-marine clients, with a strong emphasis on the Latin American market.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process claims and prepare them for presentation to Underwriters
  • Broker claims to the market, ensuring the best possible outcomes
  • Maintain accurate financial records and produce claims reports
  • Handle claims within designated authority limits and oversee payments
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, TPAs, insurers, and internal teams
  • Ensure full compliance with company systems, policies, and procedures

DAY TO DAY

  • In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end claims processing, broking claims to the market, managing financial records, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures
  • You will also play a key role in maintaining strong client and insurer relationships, ensuring smooth claim resolution 

SKILLS

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to work independently
  • Experience following and maintaining structured systems and procedures
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar claims role
  • Knowledge of Latin American claims is an advantage
  • Familiarity with London Market systems (ECF, IMR) is beneficial
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in insurance
