Role Overview:

We are seeking an energetic , motivated and experienced Senior Controller to join and lead our Control Team based in Feltham, West London. This role is ideal for an experienced controller who's ready to take the next step combining operational expertise with leadership responsibility.

You'll play a key role in managing the day-to-day running of our control operations, supporting the team and ensuring smooth communication between drivers, clients and internal departments. The position typically involves 12 hour shifts and working up to 48 hours per week. This role will include weekends and flexibility to work across different shifts as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead the daily activities of the Control Team ensuring all operations run efficiently and effectively.
  • Support, train and mentor team members, fostering a positive, proactive and customer focused environment.
  • Despatch and coordinate bookings accurately and efficiently, maintaining service standards and response times.
  • Monitor performance, identifying and resolving operational challenges before they escalate.
  • Handle escalations from drivers, customers and the team with professionalism and authority.
  • Liaise with drivers to ensure compliance, professionalism and readiness for service.
  • Collaborate across departments, including Customer Service, Accounts and Fleet to support overall company performance.
  • Analyse daily operations to improve efficiency, identify trends, and suggest process improvements.
  • Ensure team adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Report directly to management, providing feedback on performance, operational issues, and staffing needs.
  • Lead by example, maintaining a calm, solution-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

We're looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in a Control Room or Despatch role within a Private Hire, Taxi, Chauffeur or Courier company, including team leadership or supervisory experience.

You should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing or supervising control operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and motivational skills.
  • Ability to stay composed and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with platform-based despatch and control software.
  • Confident and professional telephone manner.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • A customer-first mindset with a calm, diplomatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Reliability, flexibility and strong time management.
