Location: Remote (with regular travel across South London and neighbouring counties)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday

We're seeking an experienced Responsible Individual / Social Care Consultant to provide strategic leadership, professional guidance, and operational oversight across several Ofsted-registered children's homes in South London and neighbouring counties.
This is a high-impact senior role, one where your expertise will shape best practice, raise care standards, and empower Registered Managers to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
As the Responsible Individual, you'll drive quality, compliance, and safeguarding excellence, ensuring every young person receives the safe, nurturing, and high-quality care they deserve.
What You'll Do
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
- Provide consultancy, coaching, and mentoring to Registered Managers to strengthen leadership and service quality.
- Champion safeguarding culture, embedding transparency, accountability, and safety across all homes.
- Lead preparation for Ofsted inspections, targeting consistent Good and Outstanding outcomes.
- Advise on operational management, including staffing, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory partners.
- Drive staff development, training, and performance improvement across all services.
- Promote reflective practice, learning, and continuous improvement within every team.
About You
You're an inspiring, values-driven leader with a deep commitment to improving children's lives. You'll bring:
- Minimum 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience in children's residential care.
- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards).
- Robust understanding of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Proven track record of driving improvement and achieving positive inspection outcomes.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across South London and neighbouring counties.
- A passion for high-quality care and commitment to achieving positive outcomes for young people.
