Quality Engineer - Onsite

Northampton

Monday to Thursday 8.00–16.30, Friday 8.00–15.30

Permanent, Full-Time

£45k to £55k

We're working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business that designs and produces large mechanical assemblies for global customers. They're investing heavily in continuous improvement and looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer to join their growing team.

What you'll be doing

  • Investigating and resolving quality issues from shop floor through to customer delivery.
  • Leading root-cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Supporting internal audits and maintaining the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Using problem-solving tools such as 8D, FMEA, and RCA to drive improvements.
  • Working closely with production, engineering, and suppliers to enhance product and process quality.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and right-first-time manufacturing.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment – ideally heavy or industrial.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 systems and auditing.
  • Practical experience with root cause analysis, 8D reports, FMEA, and CAPA.
  • Confident working both on the shop floor and with customers or suppliers.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ideally qualified to HNC/HND or degree level in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering (but equivalent experience is just as valuable).
