About the Role

As Assistant Manager, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe production across our central facilities. Working closely with the CPU Manager, you will help maintain high standards, support a growing team, and ensure that all products meet our quality expectations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with production or food manufacturing experience who is ready to step into a leadership position in a fast-paced and expanding business.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Support the day-to-day running of the CPU, ensuring production targets are met.
  • Oversee the production team to ensure products are made fresh, to spec, and ready for overnight distribution.
  • Maintain excellent standards across our entire fresh product range.

Quality & Food Safety

  • Ensure safe food preparation, storage, handling, and labelling across the unit.
  • Uphold and enforce food hygiene, H&S, and company compliance standards.
  • Conduct and record relevant checks using company systems and processes.
  • Support continuous improvement of quality and production efficiency.

Team Support & Development

  • Assist with training, coaching, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Help manage shift planning, task allocation, and communication.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative working environment where team members feel supported and motivated.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Ensure all cleaning routines and deep-cleaning tasks are completed to standard.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and well-presented production area.

Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, or kitchen operations (essential).
  • Experience supporting or supervising a team is strongly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £28,000.00 per year
