We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Worker to join our nurturing and forward-thinking primary SEMH school in Bournemouth.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting pupils who require additional help to manage their emotions and behaviour, ensuring they can access learning in a positive and safe environment. You will work closely with class teachers, pastoral staff, and the SENCO to deliver targeted interventions and promote positive behaviour strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Implement behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships and act as a trusted adult for pupils.
  • Support teaching and learning within and outside the classroom.
  • Contribute to a calm, structured, and caring school environment.

Requirements:

  • Team Teach training (essential).
  • Experience working with children with SEMH or additional learning needs.
  • A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to behaviour support.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
