Interim Financial Controller, central Amsterdam, ASAP start

Altum Consulting are recruiting a Qualified Interim Financial Controller (ACA/CPA/RA/ACCA) to join a growing international media business based in the heart of Amsterdam. This role is for an intial 6 month period.

This is a key position responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across multiple international entities. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise and a commercial mindset, partnering closely with senior business stakeholders to drive financial excellence.

Role:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS.
  • Lead statutory and tax reporting processes, ensuring full compliance with local regulations.
  • Partner with external auditors and manage audit processes effectively.
  • Collaborate with Group Finance on consolidation, reporting, and technical accounting matters.
  • Drive process improvements and enhance internal controls across entities.
  • Support senior leadership with financial analysis, forecasts, and performance insights.
  • Act as a key business partner to various internal stakeholders, providing financial expertise to support strategic decision-making.

You'll be/have:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent) - ideally trained in a Big 4 audit firm.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' post-qualification experience within an international business environment.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS essential; local GAAP experience a plus).
  • Proven experience in statutory reporting, financial control, and tax compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to build strong relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
