We are supporting a well-established general insurance solutions for a Financial Controller. Operating across multiple European markets, the business has evolved through strategic acquisitions and now operates under a broader financial services group.

Reporting into the CFO, the role will oversee both BAU financial controllership and support the CFO through finance transformation projects currently underway. This role is on a hybrid basis providing an excellent opportunity to own the financial controls of the insurer.

Salary: £115,000c.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the financial control function across Group entities, ensuring accurate and timely statutory and management reporting.
  • Own month end and year end processes, balance sheet control, reconciliations and general ledger governance.
  • Prepare high quality financial commentary and management reporting packs for senior stakeholders and committees providing insightful variance analysis and commercial partnering to business units.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting and long range planning activities; prepare financial models and scenario analyses.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the financial control framework, policies and risk controls.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and support interactions with regulators.
  • Lead initiatives to automate and improve finance processes and controls supporting ERP/finance system enhancements and ensure data quality across financial systems.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of strong financial policies and procedures.

We are seeking a candidate with the below experience:

  • Post Qualified Experience in an Insurance Provider.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP/IFRS), statutory and regulatory reporting experience (Solvency 2).
  • Proven experience leading finance teams and managing month end and year end processes alongside transformation projects.
